Therapy Groups

These are the groups that are currently being offered at our practice. If you are interested in finding out more about a group, you can contact the group facilitator and/or their supervisor. These groups are not drop-in and they do require registration. If you would like to register for one or more of these groups, please contact Serenity Curtis at serenity@edgeswellness.com Thank you.

We can accept some insurance plans for any of these groups, but you might need to attend an intake session before the first group meeting so that we can bill insurance (unless you are already a client at Edges Wellness Center LLC). If we don’t accept your insurance plan, or if you prefer to self-pay, we offer a sliding-scale fee of $20-$50 per person for each weekly group.

Currently, all our groups are conducted via telehealth. Please note that some of these groups are already running but are open to new participants, and some are about to start or will start once a minimum number of participants have registered. Feel free to contact the group facilitator if you have any questions. Thank you.

Chronic Illness and Pain in Relationship
This group draws on the power of community to provide therapy for couples/romantic relational systems in which one person has chronic illness or pain. Each session, we will discuss a topic ranging from shifting relationships to sexuality, therapeutically processing related concerns within the relational context. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 6.30-8pm, between February and July 2021. Space is limited to four couples/romantic relational systems (e.g., vee systems or polycules).
Group facilitator: Marie Houser, MFT intern (supervisor: Alex Iantaffi)

LGBTQ Family Members and Loved Ones
For LGBTQ youth and adults alike, family support is a key component for wellbeing and resilience. However, sometimes, cis and straight family members might wonder, “How can I support my loved one?" For some, supporting an LGBTQ relative can appear to be in conflict with their own religious faith or deeply held personal values. Other family members may wonder how to support a loved one to live openly in a world that can at times be so hostile to LGBTQ folks. This group welcomes participants wherever they find themselves, and encourages sharing stories and viewpoints in a safe, confidential, judgment-free environment. Our overall goal is to develop the skills needed to support LGBTQ family members.

As group facilitator, I’ve been immersed in this important conversation for quite some time, having both an LGBTQ sibling and an LGBTQ child. I look forward to learning from you as we share our stories and consider the many ways we can be supportive of our LGBTQ family members. This group will meet twice a month on alternate Wednesdays from 6.30-8pm.
Group facilitator: Eric Fawcett, MFT intern (supervisor: Mark Reese)

This therapy group is for partners in non-monogamous relationships (polyamorous, open, swinging, etc.) who are looking for support from others in non-monogamous relationships in a facilitated, therapeutic context. All relationship configurations welcome!
